mediloop
For health shares

Help members work the bill before it goes to sharing.

Health share members usually get the bill as self-pay patients, which opens up discounts, hospital assistance and dispute rights most of them never use. mediloop gives members a specialist who works those routes first. Members work directly with mediloop, and the share receives agreed aggregate reporting.

Why the bill matters first

Members are billed as self-pay. That changes what is possible.

A health share is not insurance, so providers generally treat members as self-pay patients. The first bill is often the full charge, and the member is left to sort it out before anything is shared.

Self-pay and prompt pay discounts

Many hospitals offer a self-pay rate or a discount for paying promptly, and they do not always apply it unless someone asks in the right way.

Hospital financial assistance

Nonprofit hospitals must have a financial assistance policy, and many members qualify for a reduction or a write off without realizing it.

Good faith estimate rights

Self-pay patients are entitled to a good faith estimate for scheduled care, and a bill at least $400 over that estimate can be disputed through a federal process.

Which routes apply depends on the provider, the bill and the member's situation. mediloop checks them case by case and does not promise an outcome.

What the member receives

Real help, from first review to resolution.

01

Understand the bill

A mediloop specialist reviews the bill and any itemized statement, explains what it shows, and identifies the questions that need answering.

02

Work the self-pay routes

We check for billing errors and work the routes that apply: self-pay and prompt pay rates, hospital financial assistance, a good faith estimate dispute, or an eligible negotiation.

03

Hand back a clear number

For eligible cases, mediloop follows up with the provider until the available path is complete, and the member ends up with a checked balance and the paperwork to show for it.

Where it sits

Beside your sharing process, not inside it.

Sharing rules stay yours

mediloop does not decide what is eligible for sharing, process sharing requests or move money. It works the bill with the provider.

Overlap is a scoping question

Some shares already negotiate certain bills for members. We look at which bills you handle today and where a specialist for the member would add something, rather than claiming there is no overlap.

A light first step

Usually a link from member services or the member portal to mediloop's intake, where members provide their own documents and authorization.

Questions health shares ask

The honest answers.

Because self-pay patients have options insured patients often do not: self-pay and prompt pay rates, hospital financial assistance, and the federal good faith estimate dispute process when a bill comes in at least $400 over the estimate for scheduled care. Most members never use them because nobody tells them how.
No. mediloop does not decide what is eligible for sharing, process sharing requests or handle any money. It works the bill with the provider on the member's behalf. Your sharing guidelines and processes stay exactly as they are.
Possibly in part, which is why we look at it during scoping. We would want to understand which bills you handle today, at what size and stage, and whether a specialist working directly with the member adds anything. If it does not, we will say so.
Agreed aggregate reporting about program use and outcomes. Individual case documents and medical bill details are not routinely shared, and any different reporting or data flow must be explicitly agreed and appropriately authorized.
No. mediloop specialists help members understand a bill and work the routes available to it with providers. They do not give legal advice or act as counsel.
Pricing is based on the eligible membership, scope and agreed case allowance, and any member cost is agreed in writing before launch. There is no published rate.
Submit the partnership form with a note about your membership and what happens today when a member gets a bill they cannot make sense of. We will review the fit and arrange a scoping conversation.
